This is one of the best books I've read.It showed me that six figure women face the same issues that we all do: Fear, doubting your own worth and your abilities, etc.Every page I read got me more inspired and motivated to keep going. I'm an Entrepreneur, and while reading the book, I started implementing ideas I had been too scared to try. And they are working! This book gave me the strenght, courage and the kick on my ass I needed to unleash my potential.
Although, I don't remember exactly what I read in this book, something must have rubbed off because I quit working at a job that wasn't aligned with my purpose and was actually costing me to get there, only to find a better paying job, but then wasn't a healthy environment, but instead of staying, I left much much quicker than it normally would take for me to realize it wasn't worth it.I didn't really try to stay and "work it out" or "deal with it" and then I finally just left the industry altogether to find something perfectly in alignment with me and my ultimate goals. I found that job a couple months later and when hired, I was given a raise on the spot, which as a serial under earner was a huge deal.I definitely think to change we've got to learn from those who are doing, so although as an artist, I couldn't completely relate or want to be the women she wrote about. I do believe that this and her other book helped me on a subconscious level.Along with this, I've been reading Overcoming Under Earning, also by Barbara Stanny, Mindset by Carol Dweck, and a book called Unleash Your Inner Money Babe by Kathrin Zenkina.
I cannot say enough GREAT THINGS about this book! She hit the core of sooo many hidden issues and changed my entire thought process! She’s EXCELLANT! I’ve already passed it along to my daughter with the stipulation that I get the book back to devour it at least one more time. I wish there were more stars to rate it! Excellent read! If you really want to succeed in business Ladies, the is a MUST READ!
Because of this book, I am sure I will earn a little more but, even more important, I will be more comfortable while I'm doing it.This book is about women who earn from $100,000 to $7 million per year. Their combined average income is an impressive $500,000. (See p. 16.) The book also examines perpetual underearners: "anyone who earns below her potential." (See p. 46 for more context about who is and isn't an underearner.)It was striking to me that the main difference between the high earners and the underearners was mostly attitude. After all, many undearners work as hard or are as gifted in their profession as the high earners.Some of the examples were of women who became six-figure earners late in life. I grew up in a household of underearners. This book hit home for me as I try to get childhood friends and family members out of that mindset. As a woman who has started her own business it is great to read how woman set their rates! The chapter on money was my favorite. Thank you Courtney Sanders for recommending this book on Think and Grow Chick's podcast.
Absolutely loved this book. My favorites were how women shared the common fears and stress because sometimes we feel like it’s just us. I liked the money part about getting out of debt and I’ve seen other material about the same topic but she put more emphasis as to why and a game plan. I didn’t like so much about the relationship part; may have to let go of a relationship if it’s keeping you from doing you. I wish she would’ve added why and more details what’s a good thriving relationship and what’s toxic instead of just saying let it go.
Great book! Basic information you already know, but encouraging to hear how other very successful women succeeded despite opposition and personal anxieties.
Love the interviews both on and off the record that she was able to obtain. A must read for any career minded person, whether female or not!
